Worth noting: 50 Avenue in front of the Community Centre is down to one lane with alternating traffic, and Community Centre parking is limited because the lot is being used for school drop-off and pick-up. Milieu Park playground reopens The City confirmed on September 3 that the Milieu Park playground renewal has wrapped and the playground reopens September 4, with the exception of the toddler swings. Those go in September 6, weather and schedule permitting. Project update

In Devon

Devon Community Pool, last swim of the season Sunday, September 6 is the final day of the 2026 season at 34 Haven Avenue. The pool opened May 15 and runs public swim, lessons and rentals through the summer, with a wading and play area for younger kids. If you have been meaning to get there, this is the weekend. Voyageur Park River Trail Open, and an easy walk by the river. Paid parking is in effect Friday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays, 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM through September 30, which includes Labour Day Monday. Devon residents can register a plate online to park free. Voyageur Park

Closures & Changes

Labour Day service changes, Monday September 7

Leduc

  • Closed: Civic Centre, Protective Services Building, Operations Building and the Eco Station. Regular hours resume Tuesday September 8.

  • Open: Leduc Recreation Centre, 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

  • Garbage and recycling: no change. Leduc collection runs on the usual schedule on every statutory holiday except Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Put it out as normal.

  • Transit: Route 1 and On-Demand are not running. Route 10 runs 10:06 AM to 7:17 PM. Leduc Assisted Transportation (LATS) has no service. City of Leduc holiday hours

Beaumont

  • Open: Beaumont Sport and Recreation Centre, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM (the City's posted holiday hours).

  • The City's administration office at 5600 49 Street observes statutory holidays.

  • Garbage: the City has not posted a Labour Day collection notice. Check your route on the 2026/27 waste collection calendar or the Smart, Savvy, Green app before you haul the carts out. BSRC hours | Waste collection

Devon

  • Garbage and recycling: no change. Devon collects Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so a Monday holiday does not shift your day.

  • Closed: the Devon Recycle Depot (20 Haven Avenue) is closed on all statutory holidays, and Monday is normally a 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM day. Go Friday or Saturday instead.

  • Devon Community Pool closes for the season Sunday, so it is not open Monday. Devon waste services

Road and site notices still active

  • Beaumont, 50 Avenue: one lane with alternating traffic in front of École Bellevue School and the Beaumont Community Centre, between 55 Street and 51 Street. Now expected to run into late fall.

  • Beaumont, 50 Avenue and 47 Street: sanitary trunk main replacement, road impacts in effect.

  • Beaumont, Triomphe Estates: two localized road and sidewalk closures near 36 Street and Triomphe Boulevard, and 35 Street near 45 Avenue, with detours in place.

  • Beaumont, Dansereau Meadows: FortisAlberta transformer relocation near 65 Street and 62 Avenue, parking lane and sidewalk closures until complete.

  • Leduc, Black Gold Drive: alternating lane closures between 48A Street and 48 Street for pressure-reducing valve work, through the end of September. One lane each direction stays open, with periods of no access to 48 and 48A Street.

  • Pigeon Lake, blue-green algae: the Alberta Health Services advisory remains in effect until further notice. Do not swim or wade where blooms are visible, keep pets out of the water, and do not eat whole fish or fish trimmings from the lake. Boiling does not remove the toxins.
