Black Gold School Division marked the first graduating class of its new skilled-trades collegiate program at Calmar Collegiate, launched after a 5,000 sq. ft. facility expansion. The inaugural year focused on carpentry, giving local students hands-on trades training and a head start into post-secondary or the workforce.

Leduc Grain Elevator to Launch Weekly Friday Markets

The historic Leduc Grain Elevator is partnering with Alberta Made Market to host Weekly Friday Markets on the elevator grounds, with local makers, crafts, baking, and food trucks alongside guided tours of the Alberta Wheat Pool building. A start date hasn't been announced yet, but it's already generating buzz for downtown foot traffic.

Beaumont Launches Clean Energy Improvement Program

Beaumont's new Clean Energy Improvement Program helps homeowners finance energy-efficient and renewable upgrades with low-interest financing paid back over up to 20 years, plus $400–$1,100 in rebates. The program runs through 2030 — demand has been strong enough that new applications are currently on a waitlist.

Beaumont Completes Traffic Safety Review

  • Beaumont's Chamber of Commerce turns 30 this year. Mark your calendar for their Anniversary BBQ on July 30 starting at 3pm.

  • Leduc County's broadband infrastructure project has been delayed until at least September, pushed back by near-record rainfall through June.

  • Leduc City Council approved a new outline plan for future development south of 65 Avenue, just north of the Bridgeport neighbourhood, worth watching if you're in that area.

  • Devon residents can now check an online Devon Crime Map for a neighbourhood-level look at recent RCMP activity in town.

Allegro Music Studio

Allegro Music Studio opened in Leduc in 2019, offering music classes for children plus lessons for students of all ages. It's a warm, welcoming space for families wanting to build music into their kids' routines. The program offers three levels tailored to different ages and stages: Sunshine (ages 3–4), Sunbeam (ages 5–6), and Moonbeam (ages 7–9), each building progressively on keyboard skills, ear training, and music literacy.

Registration is now open for Fall 2026 piano lessons.
