Leduc County Signs Aerospace and Defence Agreement
Leduc County has signed a memorandum of understanding with Sturgeon County, Cold Lake and the Edmonton International Airport to grow the region's aviation, aerospace and defence sectors through training, investment and business development. The partners will also jointly push the province to recognize Highway 28 as a key economic corridor.
Leduc Baseball Hosts U11 and U13 Provincials
The Leduc Baseball Association put the city on display as host of the U11 and U13 provincial championships, bringing teams in from across Alberta to the Aileen Faller Diamonds. Hosting two age divisions is a solid lift for a local association, and it is another example of Leduc's growing pull as a sports tourism destination.

Commercial Construction Starting on Coloniale Way
Construction is set to begin on the vacant lot at the southeast corner of 50 Street and Coloniale Way, making room for new businesses and services in Beaumont. Residents nearby can expect the usual construction activity as the site gets going.
Place Beausejour Celebrates 25 Years in Beaumont
Place Beausejour is marking 25 years of independent living in Beaumont. The idea started in the mid-1990s with a small group of residents who wanted an aging-in-place option close to home, and the 97-suite building welcomed its first tenants in early 2001. It is still community-owned, run by the Place Beauséjour Life Lease Society, and a number of its earliest residents are still there.

Devon Names Business Park Pond After Karen Macaulay
Council has approved the Devon Nature Club's request to name the stormwater facility in the Devonian Business Park "Karen's Pond," recognizing Karen Macaulay for her longstanding work in environmental stewardship and with the Nature Club. Council also approved a new Community Grant Program Policy at the same July 13 meeting.
Voyageur Park River Trail Reopens After Windstorm
The Voyageur Park River Trail is open again after crews cleared fallen trees and active wasp nests left behind by a windstorm. The Town is asking people to stay alert on the trail, especially after severe weather, but it is back in play for summer walks by the river.

Newly open on 50 Street, The KokoGrill brings Korean grill bowls, chicken sandwiches and K-street bites to downtown Beaumont, along with their own Snowberry drinks menu. The pitch is right there in the tagline, fresh off the fire and full of Korean flavour, and they are open every single day from 11 AM until 10:30 PM, which makes them one of the later options in town. Worth knowing if you go often: the free Koko Club gives you a stamp for every bowl, and seven stamps earns a free side (a pop, four spring rolls or two dumplings), plus birthday rewards. You can order ahead online for pickup. Beaumont is one of just two locations, the other being Edmonton West.
