In Beaumont, the RCMP's July report logged 313 calls for service, and the city flagged that its Micro Grants program, up to $1,000 for resident and youth-led community ideas, now runs on a faster monthly review cycle. In Devon, results are in from the town's first Community Wellbeing & Social Services Priorities Survey: 635 residents took part, and 92.4% say they're happy living there.

LEDUC
Leduc and District Food Bank Mourns Founder Charles Klass.
Klass started the food bank out of his garage in the spring of 1981; it was incorporated in 1984. In 2025 alone it distributed more than 731,000 lbs of food across Leduc, Beaumont, Devon and the county. He passed away July 24 and a celebration of life was held July 31. Beaumont's Micro Grant stream offers up to $1,000 per approved project for neighbourhood gatherings, cultural activities, community events and volunteer initiatives, with youth able to apply with adult support. Devon: Michigan Street remains listed as closed for stormwater main replacement work (notice issued Jul 7). No reopening notice found as of this check, worth confirming directly if it's on your route.
Regional: Blue-green algae remains active at Pigeon Lake per Alberta Health Services, issued Jul 20 and still in effect. Avoid contact with visible blooms and keep pets out of the water.
